First of all... HUH?
Second, here is my Monkey Sock update...
Firebird is having a time out for awhile. After looking at a 75% finished sock I realized that I am a way uptight knitter. So tight that I could barely slide my stitches over the size 1 Knit Picks dpns...which are nice and slick. I really want to make the socks but I can't deal with that yarn at the moment since we had issues. I'm also really bummed that I didn't get them done this month for SAM4.
Since I use retail therapy for just about everything I drowned my Monkey Sock madness in the best bread order ever. If you live anywhere in SoCal you can order it and have it the next day.. thank you Conejo Valley Great Harvest!
It is baked fresh every day and freezes wonderfully. This isn't good bread for a sandwich though, in my opinion.. strictly toast. You never know when you are going to want the scoop on good toast bread, right? You are welcome.
After having some toast and calming down from the Monkey stress I started the sock over.. but using the Citrus yarn from my earlier post and 3.0mm size 2 dpns. That should be much better. I even like the colorway a lot more for that pattern than the Firebird. I'm only at the ribbing so we'll see how it looks once I get to the leg portion.
Speaking of sock patterns.. have you seen this?...
It's a great book for everything having to do with socks.. history, construction and stitch patterns. If you are an already experienced sock knitter you really don't need it.. but who cares about needing it. It's just fun to have on the bookshelf.
Oh my, I almost forgot to show the new Rockin' Sock Club yarn that made it to my mailbox. I give you Flower Power...
When I put the yarn on the swift it looked even better. The ball ended up looking a little weird though. Funny how the yarn in three different ways looks like it's not even the same yarn. I won't be doing the pattern that came with it. Definitely not my style. Lacy anklets just don't do much for me.
Ok, Citrus Monkeys here I come. Don't do anything to get yourself sent to the corner.

Good luck on Monkeys #2.
The STR yarn is so pretty. I love the colors they do.

That STR is very pretty. As always, I am kicking myself for not getting in on the sock club! :)
Have a great weekend!
