What can you get for $1,000?
Have you ever thought about just how much you can get for $1,000? How about...
40-45 skeins of indie dyed sock yarn
Weekend in Vegas (if you are within driving distance)
Low end Louis Vuitton bag
Five weeks of groceries (for my fam at least)
14 tanks of gas for The Ho (again.. it's all about me)
Decent 37" plasma TV
Did I mention a dreamy amount of indie dyed sock yarn?
Well do you want to know what I got for $1,000 yesterday?...
A crazy looking cat! Actually it's quite sad. Poor Mia has been on the sick side for a couple of weeks and went through a few tests yesterday that required her to try out a new look. Last week she only had the shaved leg where they were putting the IV in.. but they really pulled out the big guns yesterday. And yes, she is overweight. That flabby shaved kitty tummy is just too ridiculous. So.. please send good thought her way. I'll find out tomorrow if she has liver cancer.
On another not so hot note...
It had so much promise.. but.. it's so big that it fit on the blocker without having to even stretch. Not what a person that lacks cankles wants in a sock. The pattern is Socks of Kindness. First of all.. great pattern! I really love it. The problem was the knitter. I was using Posh Emily which is said to be fingering weight but I am convinced that it's sport weight.. hence the ginormous sock. So off it goes to the hell where the Rhodonite Jaywalker currently resides. Obviously the Sock "Gods" are not pleased and are trying to get me to give up my love for sock knitting. While they didn't do that they certainly made me dislike it just a tad. Lacy scarf here I come. They say that scarves are the cool thing for 2008 so how do I say no. I'm thinking of doing another Misty Garden scarf from Scarf Style in this gorgeous Yarn Pirate BFL Wintergreen that I bought at The Loopy Ewe...
I LOVE green and this yarn is just stunning. The picture doesn't do it justice. So let's just hope that I don't screw up the scarf like I have been with the socks lately. It will be nice to pull something out of my stash and use it. I think my $1,000 day at the vet will be slowing down my yarn purchases. Plus, I need to save all my dollars for.. are you ready?.. The Loopy Ewe Spring Fling!! I'm so excited that I got in. Is it wrong to bring an empty suitcase just for the loot I'll be bringing home?
So what could you get for $1,000?
*interesting Google search that landed someone here - Can you get salmonella from pancakes* Hmm.
UPDATE: NO CANCER!
